The rundown

So, here is what has been happening for Ryan and I the last few years. . . . We are currently at Texas A&M where Ryan is pursuing his PhD in Agricultural Economics. He is in his 2nd year and we really enjoy it here. The summer get a bit hot and humid, but we make up for it in the winter. We have two girls: Lilly, 4 and Maggie, 2. Our newest accomplishment is that we are officially done with diapers in this household (for now). I dreaded this training, because Maggie's personality is to be quite headstrong. But, she was determined and has potty trained in about 2 weeks (including nights). I am so lucky! Lilly is enjoying preschool and getting ready for kindergarten this fall. She loves anything girl! Except her dad has got her hooked on soccer and she has quite a vicious kick! He is so proud that she can run and kick at the same time (going pretty fast) and is hoping that the coordination will keep improving (for his sake)! Though I must say he has learned to play house like a champ! Maggie has to do everything that Lilly does and is right behind her all the time. She loves to make a mess and if it can be put in her hands and spread--she is a fan--butter, lotion, paint, mud, lipstick, markers, ketchup, honey, etc. She has tried to rub it everywhere. She sure keeps us on our toes and always has us laughing about something!

Meeting President George Bush

Wow, were we excited when he walked our way during our photo session. We just happened to have a camera!!

Here is our most recent family picture. It was taken November 2006. It is time for another one soon!

Here we are

Ok, ok--I am finally on the blog bandwagon. It has taken a while, but here we are. I must say that it is easier than I anticipated--even though this is about as creative as I will get!! I am excited to start this blogging experience! It will be fun to keep in touch with family and friends this way (since we are so far away). I am excited to share how quickly my kids are growing and how fun it is to be a mom!!! So, let's get started!

January 2008

The hightlight of Januarys has been that Ryan's parents came to visit. We had a great time and the kids enjoyed being treated like royalty for a few days. We enjoyed San Antonio, San Marcos (shopping) and just doing some things around College Station. Monday night after Gary and Linda left, Lilly was in her room packing her suitcase. When I asked her what she was doing, she said that she was flying on an airplane tomorrow to go see her grandmas and grandpas!! I wish it were just that easy--you have the thought and the next day you go!!
